Bob Friend, the ace of the Pittsburgh Pirates (eventual World Series champions in this season), gains the second All-Star Game victory of his career at Kansas City’s Municipal Stadium in the first of two All-Star Games played in 1960. He is helped along with home runs hit by Ernie Banks and Del Crandall as the National League ekes out a 5-4 win over the American League.
