Another Trip Down the Jay Publishing Memory Trail
Some time ago we posted a little article on one of our favorite baseball collectibles from the 1960s—Jay Publishing Picture Packs. You can still read that post here: https://baseballia.com/blog/jay-publishing-picture-packs-memory-gallery/
At that time our gallery of pics was limited to some terrific Hall of Famers. But a large part of the appeal and beauty of the Jay Publishing venture was the fact that it built upon the concept of being a fan of a team! You would find these picture packs at the souvenir stand in your local ballpark, and it would have not only the star players that everybody knew, but there was a good chance it would have your favorite player whether he was a star or not! Growing up in Detroit in the mid-1960s I did not care too much about that Yaz guy in Boston, but I got a kick out of getting a picture of Bill Freehan, the Tigers up and coming catcher.
Well, we have had an opportunity to expand our offerings of these great pictures! You can check out the whole list here (http://tinyurl.com/y79qtpc3). And we hope you enjoy the small gallery below.
